Although she admits her first experiences in the PACU as a student were not good ones, she is now in her my 33rd year! Interestingly, her mentor when she first started working as a graduate nurse was Sandy Sheets. She was such a great role model--nothing phased her--she was always smiling, never complained--she just kept working and we always got things done.

Jan has been married for 31 years, 3 kids, all grown. But that does not mean she has plenty of leisure time!! Jan serves on numerous ASPAN committees and says that one of the best things about being active in ASPAN is meeting people from all over the country.

When she is not working at St. Luke’s or on ASPAN projects she enjoys watching football--she’s in withdrawal now, doing puzzles of all sorts--crossword, jigsaw, and sudoku and sewing.
